In one case, a dark outdated condominium became a light-filled space with extensive views of the Gulf. In this instance the importance of being a design/build team becomes most evident. At Lee Heineman’s firm creativity must often coincide with structural engineering. Lee’s client wanted higher cathedral ceilings in a third floor condominium. Structurally changing the ceilings was not an option because the home was a condominium and structural changes to the building would be difficult. “Therefore we had to work with what we had, but through creative design my client got her vaulted ceilings and more.” says Lee Heineman.
